As it is now June 1st, we can officially announce the beginning of Pride Month (*cue gong sound effect*), a true physical manifestation of every possible chance to wear nothing but glitter in public. No matter where you are on the LGBTQIA spectrum, there’s an event for almost all of you on our comprehensive queer calendar, including the 42nd Annual Pride Parade downtown, the long-running and proudly individualist Dyke and Trans* Marches and Rallies on Capitol Hill, and countless parties, concerts, neighborhood-specific mini festivals, and general bacchanalia spread across the city like a beautiful queerio constellation. Grab your buds, make sure to hydrate, and go forth and celebrate the social and political freedoms of your one gay uncle who you often reference as proof of your progressive liberalism in Facebook arguments. (And, whatever you do, don’t forget to bookmark the Pride Month calendar.)
