South Lake Union Block Party
South Lake Union’s annual all-ages summer party is back! Enjoy live music from local bands, art activations, lawn games, food trucks, and a beer and cocktail garden all day long. The main stage hosts fitness classes and performances from energetic musical acts like pop-funk eight-piece JAMN and Fleetwood Mac tribute band Leather and Lace, which includes soulful folk singer Haley Johnsen paying homage to Stevie Nicks. Rollicking post-punk band Forty Feet Tall, hazy indie rockers Motel Dolores, and pop singer Laryssa Birdseye pop up on a second stage over by the community fair, which features local vendors and organizations. If you’re interested in getting to know the neighborhood better, I recommend joining the street scramble, a race for teams of up to six people to visit as many checkpoints as possible on a specially designed map.
