FRIDAY 6/1

TONY HAWK--The skateboarding legend visits Rain City Skate Park as part of Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skate Park Tour, to be filmed for a September broadcast on ESPN. Also on hand will be Bam Margera of MTV's Jackass, a reckless testoste-fest that happens to be one of the best half-hours on television. NOTE: This date has been rescheduled several times already, and may change again. Call ahead for confirmation. Rain City Skate Park, 1044 Fourth Ave S, 749-5511, www.raincityskatepark.com, 4 pm.

DAVE ATTELL--You've watched on TV and laughed at his "Ugly American" on The Daily Show. Now it's time to pay 12 dollars. Giggles, 5220 Roosevelt Way NE, 526-5653, 8 & 9:15 pm, $12. Also Sat June 2, 8 & 9:15 pm.

SATURDAY 6/2

150 PUGS--Apparently, there's a real desire among people to be in a room with a lot of dogs, and they're willing to pay for it. They're also willing to watch them race and compete in a fashion show and talent contest. I say there's room enough in this crazy, mixed-up world for us all. Proceeds benefit the Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue, Pug Division. Meany Middle School, 301 21st Ave E, 425-349-3838, 2-4 pm, $7 (kids and pugs are free).

LIFEWAYS PSYCHIC EXPO--Hold on... hold on, I'm getting something... it's your wallet. It's brown, right? Seattle Center, Flag Pavilion, 541-482-3722, 10 am-8 pm, $8. Also Sun June 3, 11 am-7 pm.

HUGO MARKETPLACE--Educators, students, and writers are invited to this day-long conversation on the art of teaching writing. Participants will be treated to a lively, informative dialogue on different ideas on writing, teaching, and learning, and... for the love of god, it's called the SUN, people! Go outside! You're the color of pancake batter! Richard Hugo House, 1634 11th Ave, 322-7030, 10 am-4 pm, $25.

SUNDAY 6/3

AMERICAN HISTORY FROM ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE--Japanese Americans relate their experiences in Bainbridge Island internment camps. I think this might have something to do with that new Ben Affleck movie. (Things must be going pretty well for him if you can't even mention "internment camps" without his name popping up.) Wing Luke Asian Museum, 407 Seventh Ave S, 623-5124, 1-3 pm.

TUESDAY 6/5

STRAP-ONS--The ever-helpful staff of Toys in Babeland explains all the finer points of sex with harnesses and dildos, and how you should never, ever attempt to put anything larger than the size of a lemon into your ear without professional supervision. Toys in Babeland, 707 E Pike St, 328-2914, 8 pm, $20.
