FRIDAY 6/29

JUGGLING FESTIVAL--The Seattle International Juggling Festival is a three-day orgy of juggling, with free shows, workshops, and plenty of juggling paraphernalia. Workshops range in skill from 3 Ball Beginnings and Intermediate Cross Arm to Insane Right/Left Club Passing and Advanced Unicycling. There will be a "grand public show" at the Seattle Center Pavilion on Saturday at 8 pm, and a juggling open mic (the Renegade Stage) all weekend. Seattle Center, 425-703-8379 or www.cascadejugglers.org for info, noon-10 pm, free. Also Sat June 30, 11 am-11 pm and Sun July 1, 11 am-6 pm.

RUN FOR PEACE--The Sri Chimnoy Oneness-Home Peace Run began April 14 at the United Nations building in New York City, and will cover all 50 states and 11,000 miles before returning to NYC on August 16. Show your support for peace by attending today's welcoming ceremony, or by joining the runners when they leave tomorrow via the Burke Gilman Trail. Mikhail Gorbachev, Jon Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu are just a few of the world leaders, celebrities, and athletes who "have generated tremendous support" for the Peace Run but will not come within 1,000 miles of this weekend's events. Ballard locks, 527-5099 or www.peacerun.com for info, ceremony at 10:30 am.

SATURDAY 6/30

BEADS--Glass beads, clay beads, silver beads, wood beads, polymer beads... for two days, all of your bead needs can be conveniently found at the Puget Sound Bead Festival. You might think you've died and gone to bead heaven, where it's always Mardi Gras and all the people wear their hair like Bo Derek in 10. Union Station, 1717 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, 253-572-5529, 10 am-6 pm, $3. Also Sun July 1, 11 am-5 pm.

BRAZILIAN FESTIVAL--Not a celebration of carefully manicured pubes but of São João, the Brazilian Harvest Festival. Take the ferry to Vashon Island for a bonfire, beer garden, samba lessons, and a traditional play. Live music by Zabumba! (The exclamation point is part of the band's name.) Overnight camping available; all proceeds benefit Bahia Street. Vashon International Hostel, 633-1724 for info, 3-9 pm, $5/$7.

MONDAY 7/2

WRESTLING--It's all oily pecs and smoldering homoeroticism in the T-Dome when Vince McMahon and the World Wrestling Federation roll into Tacoma for tapings of WWF Raw Is War (tonight) and WWF Smackdown (tomorrow). Tacoma Dome, 7:30 pm, 628-0888, $18-$40.
