FRIDAY 7/27

TOYOTA GOLF SKILLS CHALLENGE--See top-notch amateur golf at Queen Anne's Interbay Golf Center during this year's Toyota Golf Skills Challenge. Participants compete in eight events, including long drive, short iron, trouble shot, and greenside bunker, with the overall champion advancing to November's National Finals in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event is being sponsored by Toyota, makers of the Prius, the gas-electric hybrid vehicle driven by Earth-friendly Seattleites like City Council Member Heidi Wills. Starting at $20,450 MSRP. Visit your local Toyota dealer, or call Council Member Wills at 684-8808. Interbay Golf Center, 2501 15th Ave W, 800-932-8337, Fri-Sun 8 am-4 pm, $25 per player.

SEATTLE STORM--The 8-15 Storm, losers of seven of the last eight games as the team headed into Tuesday night's game against Detroit, look to turn things around tonight against the 10-12 Phoenix Mercury. KeyArena, Seattle Center, 628-0888, 7 pm, $8 (cheap!).

SATURDAY 7/28

BALLARD SEAFOODFEST--Pack yourself with alder-smoked salmon or compete in the annual lutefisk-eating contest at the SeafoodFest in Ballard. Non-gastric attractions include mysterious "demonstrations" by Ballard firemen, a coveralls fashion show, a stilt walker, and all-day music (including a performance by Duffy Bishop, whose "stunning remote mic performance on the rooftop next to the mainstage" last year was apparently something to behold, as well as the most confusing thing I've ever heard. She was on the roof why?). Downtown Ballard, 22nd Ave NW & Ballard Ave NW, 784-9705 or www.ballardchamber.com, 11 am-8 pm, free. Also Sun July 29, noon-7 pm.

TACOMA TATTOO EXPO--You know that tattoo you've been thinking about getting? Not the charging bull covering your breast with your pierced nipple as the bull's nose ring, but the other one, that tribal ankle thing. Why not have it done at this two-day expo featuring 14 vendors, music from 12 bands, and $450 in prizes? With an after-hours performance by Church of Hate on Saturday. Slavonian Hall, 2306 N 30th St, Tacoma, www.entertainmentordeath.com, 253-538-0300, 10 am-9:30 pm and 10 pm-1:30 am, $7 day/$10 weekend. Also Sun July 29, 10 am-6 pm.
