On Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m., there are lectures on obscure subjects in the basement auditorium at the Seattle Asian
Art Museum. Going to one of these feels inordinately good. You are up at a decent hour, in the park among the daffodils, and then watching
the glowing slides while learning about something marvelous before the weekend wane ever begins. In this case, the subject is the mixing of eroticism and friendship in medieval Persian poetry. The two Saturdays following this one are “Cursing at the Screen
Yet Can’t Look Away: Watching Korean TV Drama” and “Bollywood in Love with Itself.” If it sells out, there’s a live simulcast on-site. (Seattle Asian Art Museum, 1400 E Prospect St, Volunteer Park, seattleartmuseum.org, 9:30 am, $10)
