Remember when those peeping Toms revealed Jindal's plans to run for the presidency? It seems like so long ago now. But alas, today, the man who wanted corporations to commit to discriminating against gay people has decided to suspend his campaign.

Here's his own eulogy, from ABC News:

"I am suspending my campaign for president of the United States," the Louisiana Governor told Fox News' Brett Baier. “The reality though is, they told me as a young child, Americans can do anything. I believed them then, I believe them now. But you know, this is not my time. I've come to the realization this is not my time.”

Among the things that may have helped remind Jindal that it "wasn't his time:" (1) He never rose above six percent in the polls. (2) Though no one talked faster or crazier than him at the four GOP debates in which he participated, he could never quite dominate Chris Christie at the kids table. (3) Ted Cruz raised more money on his religious-freedom-fighting, hyper-hawkish, cut-all-govt.-spending platform than Jindal did, so he lost that turf war.

As for the reaction to this news on social media:

Jindal returns now to Louisiana, where he'll oversee the final days of his governorship. During his tenure there, he managed to massively defund the education system, prevent people from accessing healthcare, close down a bunch of Planned Parenthoods, and maintain the highest incarceration rates in the country. Laissez bon temps rouler!

One down, 14 more to go.
