I’m a vegetarian, so today’s daily special is far less tempting to me than the deep-fried Oreo‘s from Wednesday. Regardless, should you want some fried strips of fried pork covered in gravy, the 5 Spot POINT is your place:
5 Point Friday Special
Chicken Fried Bacon with a side of our awesome country gravy. You gotta try this! You get 4 slices for $5.50
chicken fried bacon is bacon dipped in peppered batter and then deep fried.
Update: Now with the correct name of the restaurant! Sorry for the typos. I must be drunk off deep-fried beer.

Throw a fried egg on top of that and you’ve got yourself a meal!
The 5 Point or the 5 Spot?
A little bit of gluttony is a beautiful thing.
I worked at the 5 Spot for years, and I’d get the occasional customer who would sit, order, eat, and upon receiving the check say “5 Spot? I thought I was at the 5 Point.” It never seemed confusing to me, but there you go.
The Twilight Exit has this, too. One bite is pretty good, but I doubt I’d want a full order.
@5 the Twilight Exit isn’t serving it any more! Boo.
I think I’d only order such a thing if in the company of several people. If I ate more than one strip, my heart might explode.
@2 The 5 Point. I always get them confused. Glad that @4 confirms I’m not the only idiot out there.
Omigod, deep-fried beer is such an awesome idea! The Texas State Fair gives out awards for best fried offering. A couple years ago the winner was deep-fried balls of frozen Coke syrup, another year was the deep-fried Snickers bar.
The ultimate was deep-fried butter. I didn’t think anything could possibly beat that. But holy shit, deep-fried beer might just do it!
Can someone please figure out how to do this? I suggest starting with PBR or maybe Guiness, not some wimpy boutique microbrew.
Bacon fried chicken is much nicer.
4 slices for $5.50, the clogged arteries are free
Why is it that we bake cookies, but we cook bacon?
Things that make you go “hhmmmm…”
my brain is and body are repulsed, but my mouth is all like “EAT”
