Our arts critics have already recommended 29 awesome things to do this week, but there are lots more events happening. To save some of the out-of-the-box ones from slipping through the cracks, we’ve got the highlights here—like a New Year’s comedy show featuring Hal Sparks (Dude, Where’s My Car?), a GameWorks Omegathon, and a band called Freudian Slurp.

TUESDAY
1. 21st Century Science Fiction Book Club
This group meets the fourth Tuesday of every month to discuss authors of contemporary science fiction. December’s conversation will tackle Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes.

2. Living Voices: Klondike: The Last Adventure
Living Voices and the National Park Service present this live theatre performance about a young woman who was swept up in the Klondike Gold Rush.

From needle bondage to face needles, this Center for Sex Positive Culture class is sure to make everyone feel uncomfortable and potentially even aroused.
