Well, at least Dex One (the biggest yellow pages publisher in Seattle) does. I feel all warm and fuzzy. Remember that little saga I had with unwanted yellow pages from SuperMedia lying outside my house last week (and still is)? Well Dex read that post (although I would have been happier if SuperMedia had) and sent me an email saying they would make sure I was actually on their opt-out list if I emailed them back my address.

Guys, the important thing to take away from this email is: the next Dex delivery date is June, so if you don't want to be bombarded with these yellow-bellied beasts, opt out here NOW!

Hi Riya,

I want to thank you for reaching out to Dex for an interview last week, but I also want to follow up on information I read on one of your blog posts.

You mentioned that you signed up for Dex’s opt-out program but still received a directory, so I thought I’d contact you directly rather than post a comment since I need to ask you for information about your address in order to check our database and make sure you no longer receive unwanted directories from Dex.

Dex wants to have the highest success rate possible when honoring opt-out requests — we really don’t want to deliver directories that are not wanted - so we’d appreciate it if we could capture from you in a return email the information we ask for at www.selectyourdex.com: first and last name, address including street, city, state and ZIP, phone and email address. (Any information you provide is covered by our privacy policy http://www.dexknows.com/info/privacy_policy.asp.)

The next Dex delivery in Seattle is in June, so we still have a while before we approach the 60-day advance notice cutoff point, but we hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks,
m

Of course, I wrote back to Maggie immediately, asking her if I could use one address to block delivery to all the other units in my complex indefinitely. I can't. Each resident has to opt out individually. Dammit!
