TONIGHT: Come watch city council candidates sweat while they’re screened for endorsibility by the membership of the (Thundering!) 36th District Democrats endorsement interview. On the cross-examination table tonight: Tim Burgess, Maurice Classen, Lloyd Hara, Bobby Forch, and Kate Martin. (Ballard Northwest Senior Center, 5429 32nd Avenue Northwest, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.)

THURSDAY: King County Council member Joe McDermott’s campaign kickoff promises to be good for the inner child (bowling!) and bad for the checking account ($50 suggested donation). But the chance to see Mr. Serious donning ill-fitting bowling shoes and tossing gutter-balls alongside the other McDermott, Congressman Jim, King County Executive Dow Constantine, and Seattle City Council members Tim Burgess, Sally Clark, and Tom Rasmussen makes the exorbitant price seem almost totally worth it. (Roxbury Lanes, 2823 SW Roxbury Street, 5:30-7:30 p.m., suggested donation $50โ€”for realโ€”and they want you to RSVP at 206-328-2969)

ALSO THURSDAY: Too broke to watch politicians attempt hand-eye coordination? Then come to the Roosevelt station lightrail open house, also tonight! Complain about how much you hate the design. Bitching is free! (6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm, Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center Gymnasium, 6535 Ravenna Avenue NE)
