Winter—and its solstice—is coming. Here are 9 ways to celebrate the solstice (which officially happens next Monday, December 21, at 8:49 pm), including star parties, a beer festival, and themed concerts.

The Christmas Revels
Trolls, dancing, costumes, folk stories, and fiddles are all slated to appear at this Christmas Revels Nordic Celebration. The performance will explore themes of light and dark related to the season and the solstice, through the story of an evil witch who squirrels away the sun and moon.

Stanley Greenthal and SeaMuse play Celctic & Balkan tunes, with traditional songs and poems interspersed.
