In about a half hour, President Obama will hold a town hall meeting on health care reform in New Hampshire. Because, you know, town hall meetings have been going so well for Democrats lately.
The president is prepared for disruptions, says his spokesman. Which is good. Because if Obama’s town hall meeting looks anything like this video—from Senator Arlen Specter’s own town hall meeting this morning—it’s going to be a very bad day for health care reform.

Why aren’t they better prepared? Newsflash: Your Senators and members of Congress are bought and paid for by the Health Care Industry which don’t want real reform.
If they were serious, we’d have single payer universal health care. But they’re not serious, not serious at all. So expect a watery bill that will leave millions uninsured with the “promise” if the the Democrats only had 75 seats in the US Senate they could get more reform….

I don’t dispute that may be at least one factor, but the simple reality – as anyone who’s spent anytime on SLOG should be well aware – is that it’s next to impossible to have any sort of intelligent, constructive dialog with a person who only wants to yell and scream and who isn’t in the least bit interested in hearing your side of the argument. That’s what these “tea-baggers” or whomever they are are doing: shouting down anyone who attempts to utter anything that might provide the rest of the audience with any legitimate information or argument in favor of reform that might actually allow them to make up their own minds on the issue.
They’re bullies, pure-and-simple, and so far as I’m concerned, they should be treated as such.
