2) Racism is bad, but misogyny is good. Is Amanda Knox guilty because she’s a white woman, Chuckles? The evidence against her is garbage.
So, something amazing must have happened in the new proceedings that I’m totally missing. What is this new thing that has come to light? That the DNA evidence against Amanda is shoddy, is weak, and the Italian forensic experts are nothing but a bunch of dodos. This is not new. These arguments have been around since the beginning of the case. This appeal is not about providing evidence for Amanda, but attacking evidence that is against her. The only thing new in all of this is Amanda’s wardrobe.

so the issue for you is not her guilt or innocence, but that you don’t expect their appeal to succeed?
do you hope for her freedom, or is she simply the white girl who has to pay for all the cumulative sins of white girls?
Isn’t proving the invalidity of evidence the way that many falsely imprisoned people in this country have been released?
I never thought I’d be equating Amanda Knox and Mumia Abu-Jamal, but in both of their cases, the perversions of justice are so egregious that it almost no longer matters if they’re guilty (Knox almost certainly isn’t; who the hell knows if Abu-Jamal is?).
The level of brazen prosecutorial malfeasance, evidence and witness tampering, and media/political bullying on display in both cases can never be tolerated if we hope to live in a better world than this one.
I tend to be rather opinionated about most issues, but I just can’t form an opinion about this one. I get heavily swayed by both sides.
For a long time on the subject of Amanda Knox, the convoluted faux intellectual prose of Charles M has made the case that this woman is guilty of a horrific murder. He argued that only because of the blinders of race, sex, Western hegemony and perhaps too much Baskin-Robbins ice cream that people don’t see the obvious. Matters such as evidence are subordinate to Charles M’s views. It’s a very odd case for a publication that purports to advocate for justice and police accountability.
Well, Chuck, at one point do you say there must be an approximation between convincing evidence and opinion?
You are past the point where you should acknowledge your overdid your case. Get on your knees, smell your way to West Seattle, and apologize to the parents of that young woman. Then remember, you are mortal and the people you think are mere subjects are people.
“This appeal is not about providing evidence for Amanda, but attacking evidence that is against her.” Um, isn’t that how “innocent until proven guilty” works? No one has to provide evidence that they are innocent, because that is (supposed to be) the presumption, to be disproved by prosecution. Unless one is being railroaded by a corrupt and broken court system.
Amanda Knox is going to turn out to be the biggest troll of our generation. Just you watch.

Have you actually been following all the ins and outs of this case, and the people involved? That the brother of someone who probably *did* it came forward to police, who poo-pooed him away? That would’ve cleared all three of the people currently accused of this (two whites and a black!)? All you have to do is read The Monster of Florence, Mudede, and you will understand that this case has nothing to do with the “evidence” at hand. Rather, the “evidence at hand” has to do with the end result the investigators want. 12, im stunned you think im ignorant of all those old things. stop gassing yourselves. i was close with someone you covered the court case. she was in the court room daily. i have heard all of this stuff about the evil prosecutor over and over again from people who keep gassing themselves to create an atmosphere that’s impenetrable.
The fact still remains that Knox lied about many details. And she lied not just for herself but to throw someone else under the bus (her former boss). If he hadn’t had an alibi for that night, he’d be languishing in jail as well. Would she have spoke up for him and told people she lied? No, because she didn’t – it was proven and he was released.
She named the one black guy she could think of when the police asked her whether it could have been someone else.
Guilty of murder or not, that was a terrible thing to do to another human being.
The US reporting of this case is terrible.
This is NOT a miscarriage of justice. There are multiple pieces of evidence other then the two peices of DNA evedince in question.
The fact that the break in was OBVIOUSLY staged. Why would anyone stage a break in if they didn’t need to point to someone out side the house?
There was bloody shoe prints leading out the front door but a bare bloody FOOT print on the bath mat with NO prints leading to it. Something HAD to have been cleaned up for this to be possible. WHY on earth would the third guy who was convicted clean up and stage a break in while leaving his sh*t to be discovered in the other bathroom toliet?
Why do neither her nor her boyfriend have an alibi? Why have they both told multiple stories about where they were? Why did they both in different round about ways accuse the other?
Why do there phone recoreds not match even remotely the stories they tell?
and on and on…. there is SO much more evidence then the bra clasp and knife. In fact isn’t it funny that these are the ONLY pieces of evedince really be re examind if it is ALL crap?
Oh, and the guy who said his brother did is has come forward to say that he LIED because he was offered a large sum of money to do so.
The media has done a great job spinning things but wether or not the clasp and the knife hold up they are still going to be convicted.
