Early Monday morning, officers received a call from a man in West Seattle who said that his roommate had been attacked on Capitol Hill nearly an hour before, according to a police report.
The victim “spoke very little English,” but his roommate translated for police, records say. The man left a nightclub around 12:30 a.m. and was walking by himself down 13th Avenue near East Madison Street. “As he passed a dark parking lot, he was accosted by four unknown males who pushed him to the ground and began kicking him,” the report says. The man “tried to protect his head during the attack but was kicked in the head once or twice, and repeatedly in the back and torso.”
During the assault, the men were yelling racial slurs at victim. They said phrases like ”’black motherfucker,’ ‘black ass,’ and other references to the victim’s race,” the report says.
The assailants reportedly ran off when they noticed other people approaching. According to police records, the victim “stated he was not able to get a real good look at his assailants, but described them as appearing to be Hispanic, but was not sure if they were Hispanic because he did not detect an accent in their speech.”
“He said the assailants did not take anything from him, nor did they exchange any words or conversation before they assaulted him,” the report says. Seattle Police officers filed the case an “anti-black” bias crime.

wow…even racists are afraid to use the “n” word…
I’m curious how he knew they were calling him a “black motherfucker” and/or “black ass” if he didn’t speak english.
@2:
Because, as most people who’ve learned a foreign language outside of a classroom setting can attest, many of the first words you learn are the dirty ones.
The article states that he “spoke very little English”. Just because one does not speak English very well doesn’t mean he/she isn’t aware of racial slurs and cuss words. I know lots of cuss words in different languages, but I don’t speak those languages.
Besides…what are you implying??
@4 was meant for @2, btw….
Capitol Hill ? No!? why there must be some confusion here …..
If it had been done to any other group especially the favored one in the Hill you would 1) see a link to a credible source, 2) see the attack labeled clearly as a hate crime and not a tepid “bias”, 3) see all the usuals having a fit over it. But there’s no racism on the Hill, none whatsoever, yeah.
There’s only moronism up here, LC – but you can’t claim it’s a hate crime because we despise you-all for being idiots…
they probably learned the phrases listening to Fiddy…..
No white guys involved? Move along……
