It’s snowing again, fiercely.

UPDATE: Well, that was over fast.

  1. Thank goodness for your update.

For all of you folks excited by the snow, move to the midwest: Mpls or Chi for just one winter, and then tell me how you feel. Snow sucks.

  2. Why cant anyone in this fucking town just take what we fucking get–Rain, oh shit its wet, it makes everything green! Snow, its cold rain, itll be gone soon, it floats and doesnt pelt, 90 degrees–its heat, it cooks us, it reminds us we have seasons….blah blah blah…I love the weather here, let it be what it be, always…

  3. Here we go again – a dusting of snow on the ground and no buses in Rainier Valley. And Metro has nothing to say about it, of course.

  4. Oh poor rainier Valley guy. Share your awful experience with us. metro bus service not up to your usual Rainer limo lifestyle. Make fun of an amputee-that’ll cheer ya up.

  5. Metro says only 6 or so routes are shut down. I live on Pine downtown and havent seen a bus go by yet this morning. Cant wait for my commute!

  6. Metro online’s list of messed-up routes is growing every ten minutes. Why does Seattle become a third-world country whenever we get a dusting of snow? Most other Northern cities are fine.

  7. Metro needs to figure this out – it’s beyond stupid that they can’t communicate with riders in an effective manner! I’m tired of checking their sites or trying to call (ha!) and getting bad info. I could accept that they can’t handle even minor snow events if only they would give us accurate info so we know what to expect! Beyond: Ahh!! There’s a snowflake! Buses are now 99% unreliable!

  8. Seattle can’t run a bus system.
Yet you Liberals want the government to run Health Care.
    (it’s a moot point…)

    The Welfare State is collapsing.

  9. …Hoooooly crap, we don’t just have Bitter Bettys, we’ve got Debbie Downers, Sour Susans, and Wailing Whitneys. Perhaps widespread UV bulbs are in order to counteract this city wide Seasonal Affective Disorder. Or will people start bitching and kvetching once spring comes because their allergies are kicking?

  10. A winter to remember in the sunshine of summer – it is very pretty – have been working since early am – watching it fall in utter amazement.

I planted some early garden past weekend. We all need and old Hummer , chained up and ready to go — and the bus sucks without the snow, hence, gets no better …. looking for the right banger for spring trips to and fro …

Now to bed. Remember, Nickels now has a chance to do salt and sand … go Greg …

  11. I’m sorry, but waiting an hour and a half in the cold not-snowing-anymore on the SNOW ROUTE for a bus is positively ridiculous.
45th was shiny clear and I watched car after car after car cruise by. Not. One. Bus.
And then it came, COLD AS FUCK I’d like to add, and packed us in until the driver had to tell people waiting at stops that it was full – sorry!
I understood the snow follies of December but a light dusting now and OMG! Paralysis! Armageddon!
Metro, please, get your shit together.

  12. The Stranger could make a list of all the stuff that gets whined about on Slog.
1)”You didn’t put up a NSFW warning! whaaaaaaaa!”
    2)”The buses aren’t running! Whaaa!!!”

One man’s whine is another man’s STFU.
