This could be you. Credit: OMG Posters

It’s not quite enough to motivate us to make the epic journey to the Southern Lands, but this show at Gallery1988: Venice, which opens tomorrow, looks like a winner. Thirty artists created posters inspired by classic video games like Tron and (yes!) Duck Hunt, and the samples are super-sweet (thanks, Hi-Fructose). It’s curated by OMG Posters, a fun place for people who like things. Dig it:

This could be you.

  1. I believe that “a fun place for people who like things” is the funniest phrase ever from The STD. I shall write it on the back of every single commemorative t-shirt I own.

Also, Frogger traumatized me. I was terrible at it. Poor little squashed froggies.

  2. I guess you’re saying that because one game is commercial, games aren’t art. Which is pretty dumb. Video games are a medium like any other, and there are going to be some games which are obvious cashgrabs. Just like film.
