The Bible has already arrived on Xbox 360. Now the makers of the controversial Left Behind book series (“In terms of its impact on Christianity, it’s probably greater than that of any other book in modern times, outside the Bible,” said Jerry Falwell) are bringing “Bible Adventures” to the Wii and Xbox 360, a game based on content from their little-kid-targeted and “Family Approved” series Charlie the Church Mouse.

Paraphrasing scripture, Left Behind CEO Troy Lyndon says, “We expect our financial projections to grow exponentially as we transition from a PC game developer to a Wii & Xbox developer.”

No word yet on a console port of the more teen-targeted Left Behind PC games, which seem to let you blast the shit—or is that sin?—out of evil-doers with “spiritual warfare.” One of that game’s constantly touted features is the “choice you make for being good or evil.” We can only hope it includes an option for some of that technically-maybe-not-gay elf sex we’ve been hearing all about.

Hmmm, 1000G is pretty tempting.

  1. That comment about the Left Behind books being the most influential books this side of the Bible is disturbing mostly because it’s kinda true. Millions upon millions of Christians who have never actually read the Bible have read those things and internalized the message. It’s like finding out that fans of “Twilight” are the most powerful voting bloc in the country, or that the works of a hack science fiction writer from the 1950s form the basis for a mainstream religion.
