About two to three thousand have already crowded into the Capitol campus in Olympia ahead of this afternoon’s rally, with more people still pouring in, creating more of festive atmosphere than an angry mob. That said, nobody’s celebrating the the all-cuts budget that brought them here to demand closing special interest tax loopholes to help offset cuts to education, health care and other essential services.
More later….

Ever think that all of these protests are coming about a decade or two too late?
2000 in Protestville, aka. Evergreen State’s back yard?
Thanks for the laugh.
On the bus ride down, Geezer Goldy was the only scab among the card-carrying, dues-paying brothers and sisters.
@3
How is he a scab if his paper pays enough for non union workers, is everyone at Costco a scab?
Should I trace your IP address and see what paper you work for?
@4,
His paper also relies on unpaid “employees.”
svensken @ 4:
Tim Keck, cheapjack Stranger publisher, is so cheap that two years ago his news editor was reduced to stealing wine from QFC. The Stranger isn’t Costco.
Well, i guess its nice that seattle is coming to me for a change.
@5&6
Dearest, thats called an intern. Also, someone stealing wine sounds like an alcoholic instead of an underpaid worker. ALSO, you never ansered my question. How is Goldy a scab if he works at a non union paper?
I’m more that willing to bet that the stranger pays better than costco.
@8,
Other news outlets in town pay their interns.
SLOG doesnt. but that is ok they are democrats.
@2,
2k was before the rally started. State patrol estimated 7500 at peak.
