I can’t believe it. Can you believe it? Because Joni Balter, Seattle’s ace political commentator, sure can’t believe it. She’s gasping because people supporting the tunnel referendum… don’t even like the tunnel. Cary Moon, Chuck Ayers, Bill Broadhead! Dear god, get the smelling salts.
Join the people that Joni Balter can’t believe exist by donating to Protect Seattle Now over here. You’ll be in good company.

Apparently someone showed Joni how to use the Internet.
How much is Will in Seattle giving? For all his talk, he better be emptying his bank account.
Reading the contributions to sitting councilmembers that support the tunnel is like reading a who’s who of pro-tunnel and pro-road activism. CM Rasmussen’s is a good example. From downtown real estate concerns to road warrior Dennis Forsyth to Argosy Cruises’ Kevin Clark (a pro-tunnel stakeholder).
Interesting how that works out.
Yes, Joni, how shocking that the people who advised McGinn to make the tunnel his wedge issue are supporting McGinn keeping the tunnel his wedge issue.
As an aside, how weird is it that she’s married to Puliter prize-winning NYT dude and author Tim Egan of all people? Strange bedfellows indeed.
I’m pretty sure incumbent council member Jean Godden was one of the first people to drive her horse and buggy on the Viaduct when it was built.
Mind you, it’s an old black and white photo, so I’m not really sure.
Didn’t she promise to tear it down to enrich her millionaire developer friends back in 1979?
@2 maybe i’ll bring over some thai food.
I am one of the “indidivuals” not tied to Mayor McGinn who would like to get involved.
I should get out my popcorn for this one. Dominic + Joni = catfight.
@7: Good job, posting here in Slog. Keep up the good work!

I love watching the expressions on Joni’s face every time Dominic talks – priceless.
That’s good popcorn watchin’ there.
Dominic, the piece you linked to doesn’t say what you accuse Joni Balter of saying. Not that lying about people means anything to you, but I’m pointing it out anyway. I guess you figure your fans don’t click on links and read.
@12 it’s all Subtext Theatre.
I like the tunnel.
Ah, the things we like and can’t afford. I prefer educated kids. I prefer the mentally ill have safe places to go. I prefer more jobs repairing infrastructure we already have. Don’t need no stinkin’ tunnel.
