Yes, one of the best sketches ever. Thanks for posting. However, the world lost far more with Chris Farley’s death that Patrick Swayze’s. Two words: Matt Foley.
Can we all remember to watch To Wong Fu this weekend? Patrick in drag just screams Miss Kity from Gunsmoke!
Rest good sir.
They are auditioning for Heaven’s Chippendales now.
Wow – what a night when that aired. Both had charisma to burn – and burned it.
I always found Swayze impossible to look away from, even when he was mouthing grade-Z dialogue in some crappy genre piece.
Huh. I guess cigarettes are harmful to your health. Who knew?
@5: It was pancreatic, not lung cancer.
Chris Farley later spoke about this sketch in an interview. He said it was the most humiliating sketch he ever did, hated every second of it.
soooo tacky, lindy.
less class=more pee in your eye.
@1 STFU! I loves me some van down by the river as much as anyone. BUT comparing one departed artist to another on the MFing day of their departure is totally inappropriate! I am of the generation that held Swayze up as an icon. The Outsiders, Red Dawn (I am embarassed to say how many times I have seen this movie), Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Donnie Darko, Point Break, Roadhouse…. well, you can’t win ’em all. Please act like you have a little respect for your elders for a week or two. We are mourning.
P.S. there are over 25 slang definitions for “Swayze” and its variations at UrbanDictionary.com, all posted prior to his passing. I’d say that is some proof of his cultural status. Peace out y’all, I’m Swayze!
I’ve always thought Chris Farley’s moves were way hotter than Patrick Swayze’s in this sketch.
