This carnage is at Northeast 42nd Street and University Way Northeast, and, as you can see on Google Maps, there used to be one or two parking spaces there.

Surely this is the worst thing that’s ever happened—worse than the time the city spent some money on a “special” sweeper to maintain its cycle track—and it’s further evidence of social engineering that attempts to push us out of our cars. At the very least, cars are being shoved aside. And it’s wasteful because it will require a modicum of maintenance—and that costs money. It’s also dangerous, somehow. The important thing is that we maintain a cultural grudge against bikes because a cyclist ran right through a stop sign at some point.
