I’m not sure why or when Cats Doing Stuff became America’s favorite pastime, and I’m especially not sure what the fuck we were wasting our time paying attention to before we got all fixated on Cats Doing Stuff. Cats Doing Stuff is the best, no matter how many Cats Doing Stuff videos we watch.
But I particularly like this Cat Doing Stuff video, because it is a video of a cat just having an awesome time. Just makin’ it happen. You almost never see a cat enjoying itself without a humiliating undercurrent of craziness/clumsiness/special needs. Cats Doing Stuff videos are by nature undignified. But not this cat. This cat has a plan. This cat is just like, “YUP.”

The reason cats doing stuff is america’s favorite past time is because its like a shiny toy: we focus on it and can’t see past to the horrible stuff like War, and Genocide, and Poverty, and Homelessness. Because Kittens Inspired by Kittens (which is fantastic and everyone should go watch right now!) is happy and doesn’t remind of our blantant failures in life.

Cute. But cats on kitchen counters freak me out a little. Having a cat prance about on food prep surfaces…not a great idea. Thirty minutes ago that cat was using its paws to roll shit balls around in its litter.

i just ate a turkey sandwich on light rye, a bag of doritos, washed it down with some cranras juice. now im topping it off with a slice of apple pie. afterwards, im going to smoke a marlboro and then pleasure myself in the shower.
The best thing is that with the jazz in the background, when the cat sticks its head under the faucet, the water hitting the sink sounds like a jazz drum roll. Perfect.
