Slog tipper Peter F instructs us to view this short musical film thingamadoodle that took over the internet yesterday. It envisions the best, brightest, shiniest apocalypse ever, in which super-old-school videogame characters and elements smash up NYC pixel-style. It pings the sugar-rush center in the brain and is very pretty:
The Stranger Testing Department is Rob Lightner and Paul Hughes.

You gotta love the Tetris blocks filling in around the skyscrapers.
Pathetic ripoff of the original, some idiot reencoded it and added the shitty crap music (obscuring the cool soundtrack with trashy filth), and destroyed the video quality.
The FAR SUPERIOR original, here:

@1 Yah, that’s when I really started to smile. That was great.
Reminds me of the R.E.M. video “Man-Sized Wreath.”

thanks @2
that song was bugging the hell out of me.
Yeah – the link in comment 2 is way better.
I, too, found the nonmusical version late yesterday after posting the Youtube link in the comments. I profusely apologize for ruining everything, once again.
