1) David Ginsberg, a West Seattle resident who has raised $2,250 in his bid for city council, has decided to run against three-term incumbent Richard Conlin, who has raised around $57,000. Pete Holmes, another candidate who has not yet chosen a race, is rumored to be considering a run at Conlin’s seat as well.

2) Tim Burgess’s current Facebook status is: “Tim Burgess just learned he will Mayor pro-tempore Sunday-Wednesday coming up. Warn the citizens! See, I didn’t need to run after all.”

  1. I want to tour Richards back yard garden before I vote for him again …. the proof of the pudding so to speak

    Erica, get pix …

And, can he milk a goat, and not make the goat angry?

Check his garbage, Richards, for plastic bags while you are there doing the garden check …

This race is out of the blue getting interesting – Ginsbergs site is good – looks well prepared for a first run.

  2. Since the subject is “City News Updates” can you PLEASE explain what happened on Jan. 28 at 6:50 p.m. when you reportedly stole from QFC? Your reporting tends to focus on the morals and ethics of local politicans and it would only be fair to us if you explained yourself. Glass houses and all.

It has been reported in most local blogs and the other weekly with the exception of the stranger.

  3. Richard has a very micro view of the world – it is alarming leadership in a city which will double in population in a decade or so

He is tailor made to be a leader in Sultan or Cle Elum – not Seattle, where we have put up with his small town vision for two terms….

Richard, in the coming depression, can we eat the pet goats? If so, all is forgiven. (Conlin is a champion about goats for in city pets, or is it pigs? BOTH could be eaten… and will be eaten in certain neighborhoods…. be honest folks, ethnic food always treasures young goat meat …)
