Starting from April 4, Larry Page, Google Co-Founder, will take charge of Google’s day-to-day operations as Chief Executive Officer.
Sergey Brin, Google Co-Founder, will devote his energy to strategic projects, in particular working on new products.
Eric Schmidt will assume the role of Executive Chairman, focusing externally on deals, partnerships, customers and broader business relationships, government outreach and technology thought leadership—all of which are increasingly important given Google’s global reach. Internally, he will continue to act as an advisor to Larry and Sergey.
How can I get a job in “thought leadership”?
so basically they changed titles, kept same jobs.
At first I thought this might be a link to the stockholders of Hewlett-Packard suing the Board of Directors for giving their former CEO hundreds of millions in cash-out when he jumped ship to Oracle.
And then I realized we were going to talk about non-news instead.
“Thought Leadership” is another word for “fake PR” and “pre-announcing to cut your competitors off at the knees while doing nothing”.

I believe this translates to: “Sergey has a lot of shares, so we got him some really cool legos that will hopefully keep him busy and away from all decisions.”
@4, don’t forget the part that translates to “we’ve found a way to make all Sergey’s private jet travel tax-deductible for him”.
