It seems like more evidence that the best thing a someone can do to get rid of the Tea Party is give them airtime. The more the public hears their actual message, the less they’re going to care what they’re saying…
What do you believe in? “I don’t know.”
Okay, what’s wrong with this bill? “I don’t know.”
Alright, what’s in the bill? “I have no idea.”
Well, why are you against the bill then? “Fox News said it was bad.”
Didn’t Mr. Savage post this same video on Friday morning?
Now that it’s down to the wire, the tea-baggers are really showing their true colors:
Tea Partiers Call Lewis ‘N****r’, Frank…
How could a “grassroots” movement afford to hire elephants?
@ 6, Those were circus elephants. They just spliced in some footage of a Ringling Bros. parade.
Never take counsel of your fears… lest you wind up on television with your ignorance flapping free in the breeze for the whole world to see.
I love the glassy eyes on the frizzy-haired lady with the custom Beck t. She sure looks lonesome, though.
These people hate the health care bill without knowing anything about it. I LOVE that interviewer boy without knowing anything about him. Am I any better than they?
And who is he and how can I get him inside me??
ROTFLMAO!
More leftist cherry picking to make the patriots in the Tea Party movement look ignorant. The fact is, they are more informed and more intelligent than most of the leftist knownothings in the media now.
I mean, they didn’t need a teleprompter to say anything.
Ever see Obama without his teleprompter? He’s lucky to be able to spell “cat.”
Seriously, these are the hard traditionalists that need to sweep the Marxist Fascists out of power in November, and they will if Barack Hussein Obama allows the elections to go forward. Martial Law is the only way these treacherous traitors can stay in power now.
Thank you, Matt. I was worried about those poor elephants.
@4:
And they never will bother to educate themselves on this, or any other issue of importance.
These people are not only lazy, ignorant and stupid, but they REVEL in their laziness, ignorance and stupidity.
Oh, L.B. you silly, we don’t need to cherry pick to make Tea Baggers look stupid: all we need to do is stick a microphone in their faces and let them open their mouths.
@14 Oh sure, there’s that “teabagger” slur again. Can’t you think of anything on your own rather than depending on Keith Olbermann for all your jokes?
ROTFLMAO!!!
@14:
Dude, we should stick the microphone in front of Lord Basil’s mouth and see what comes out. He hilariously accuses “us” of cherry-picking and yet often says the EXACT same things the teabaggers on this video are saying. In fact, he does so in this exact post!! Holy shit! We cherry-picked Lord Basil!
I mean, it’d be one thing if his argument was different or somehow more informed than theirs… but it isn’t. He’d look just like them if he got out in public like they did. I bet there’s some video out there where he does.
@15:
You realize you didn’t think of “ROTFLMAO,” right? You realize you didn’t come up with any of the words you’re using… they were taught to you by someone else. This is a bullshit argument. I use the term “teabagger” because the teabaggers originally did; and also because it’s fuckin’ hilarious.
Do you really have nothing better to do than argue about the originality of our jokes here on SLOG? C’mon. Your post is clearly a joke, and I’ll admit it’s pretty funny; so “ROTFLMAO!!!”
Lord Basil marvels at how they “didn’t need a teleprompter” to parade their ignorance.
Is there some place on Cap Hill that is showing this, where I can drink and get shouty with other like-minded people?
…and the teleprompter thing. Hahaha. As if. Barack Obama was a constitutional law professor. One may not agree with what he’s saying, but this is “teleprompter argument” is just embarassingly stupid: he didn’t use a teleprompter in his classes. He didn’t use a teleprompter when he was speaking at my university. And he wasn’t using a teleprompter when he mopped the floor with Republicans at their own luncheon.
But then again, maybe Basil has a point: teabaggers don’t use teleprompters. They scribble incoherently on their hands, signs, t-shirts, and maybe in their pocket there if they can find it.
Remember back to when we had a teabagger president; he didn’t use a teleprompter either. He just straight made things up.
Well, that’s 9-1/2 minutes tossed on the ash heap of a lazy Sunday afternoon. A disheartening view of what’s taken for acceptable American-speak. The kind of crowd that needs someone to coalesce and mobilize them to pick up pitchforks, staves and torches and assault everyone with whom they don’t agree (or worse, don’t understand). Let’s see their reaction when government is actually taken out of their lives. Gotta give the kid credit for attempting to reason with these scaredy-grumps.
US Flag Wall of Shame
US Code, Title 36 Chapter 10 ยง176
@21:
How about the Cascadian flag? Are we allowed to wear it? I’ve got some Cascadian flag boxers I think are pretty legit. Haha.
Also, I’m thinking there’s a difference between wearing the actual flag and wearing some stupid Teabagger ConservaFlag Shirtsโข. Is there?
“It seems like more evidence that the best thing a someone can do to get rid of the Tea Party is give them airtime. The more the public hears their actual message, the less they’re going to care what they’re saying… “
Gosh then, this nonstop 27/7 news cycle adoration of the Teabaggers sure is helping us then.
Oh wait, it’s been doing jack shit.
I was down there earlier this afternoon. These interviews/videos of tea party protests are a little deceiving. There were at most 50 people there in front of the capital. One of them started blowing a shofar for some reason while a couple of them started praising god and Jesus.
Nowhere near the amount of people that these videos seem to suggest. In fact the vast majority of the people in the mall today were the Immigration Reform protesters.
I saw the same thing during the election. Just replaced ill informed conservatives with uninformed liberals. It’s all just cheap shots and political theater, with one group of smug, self righteous assholes taking the opportunity to feel superior to a different group of smug, self righteous assholes. And it adds nothing to the conversation.
Hey Lord Basil, I’m sending you two dozen Hostess powdered donuts. You sound hungry.
@23: You got me good for an unregistered commenter. You’re right, it’d get rid of them *if* people were rational.
I stand corrected.
@25: I dunno what you’re talkin about… during the election? I remember abundant stupid comments on both sides (the “birthers” were all over the place back then too – VP Candidate Sarah Palin even said our new president “pals around with terrorists” for God’s sake), but they did nothing rose to the level of calling a member of the United States House of Representatives as a “nigger” or a “faggot” to his face in the halls of Congress.
@25 “It’s all just cheap shots and political theater, with one group of smug, self righteous assholes taking the opportunity to feel superior to a different group of smug, self righteous assholes. And it adds nothing to the conversation.”
Gosh, perhaps you should be blaming the media, not liberals then? Especially since there ARE NO enlightened conservatives speaking out against any of this political theater.
Et tu, Ellen Burstyn character from Requiem for a Dream?
@28 way to miss the point, genius.
@27 I’m speaking specifically about the video, not teabaggers in general…There were quite a few videos making Obama supporters look foolish for not being able to talk about his specific accomplishments as a Congressman. It was cheap when conservatives did it and it is cheap now that liberals are doing it.
Lord Basil is one of the great parodies.
“These are Glenn Beck’s principals, that we’re all trying to adhere to…”
“Glenn Beck’s commandments, then.”
“Well no…”
Really? Because that was exactly what went through my mind. And I doubt I’m the only one.
ahh, Lord Basil, Emperor Oregano here. Marxism and Fascism are diametrically opposed political ideas. Completely opposite. You make no sence.
