  1. I did see it, but I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember if it was first from his tweet of the picture of himself holding it or his facebook posting of the picture of himself holding it.

  2. Wow. THREE whole celebrities in two weeks. And one of them is opportunistic spotlight seeker (ref: Wisconsin legislative crisis) Michael “Hippo-crit” Moore.

Keeping trying Stranger. Maybe eventually you’ll nurse this lame hipster-fest (peppered with self-possessed boomers) into an actual news blurb in a credible publication.

  3. @7 Ha!

I don’t know much about Cornel West except that he’s on that gawdawful radio show with Tavis Smiley and I absolutely can’t stand Tavis Smiley.

  4. Wow…so glad to see him up there on “Wall Street”.

    Must have been tiring.

Now he can go home on the Amtrak back to Princeton (3rd highest income per capita zipcode) where he works and take a rest.

You realize we’re talking about Cornel West, near-weekly guest of Tavis Smiley, the NPR host funded with $1.65 million in gov’t grants (2009 latest), to spread the word for the Obama’nation?

You can’t cite the credibility of Cornel West, and the illegitimacy of NPR in the same breath. Doesn’t work that way. They are one in the same.

While you’re at it: Look up the meaning of Neo-con before you use it as an spit-wad. I’m not one, but you obviously don’t know what it means.

  6. @15 Wait, Cornel West and NPR are the same thing?! Oh, so that’s why the always say “Wall Street’s black mascot, President Obama” on All Things Considered instead of just “President Obama.” I had been wondering about that for a while now, actually.

  7. Hate to break it to ya, but the US isn’t very good at wars these days (see Iraq, Afghanistan). We’d probably just end up dumping a bunch of money into Halliburton and Blackwater.

  8. @15 “You can’t cite the credibility of Cornel West, and the illegitimacy of NPR in the same breath. Doesn’t work that way. They are one in the same.”

Hey, I’ll look up the definition of neo-con when you look up the correct usage of articles! Go ahead and look here, too.

Interesting, although I never really “cited the credibility” of Cornel West although I think he’s spoken more truth than tribalist Democrats want to own up to and thus they call him any number of things. Actually, my fiend, reality does work in mysterious ways and doesn’t have to conform to any piddling contradictions pointed out to you by Reason Magazine or something.

I know Tavis is dirty with Wells Fargo money. Did I say I want to blow Cornel West or Tavis Smiley? We should be a little more mature now to realize that a movement can and should be more than one person–good or bad.
