This is it. The final battle. King County Executive candidates Dow Constantine and Susan Hutchison (we hope) will wade through the murky, treacherous waters that are your questions this afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Hutchison has led most of the way, but a new poll Tuesday morning showed Dow pulling ahead.

Here’s just a small sample of what awaits them:

How will you lead in such a way as to minimize the impact of the recession on those who most economically vulnerable?

Metro budget is leaking, and both drivers & riders complain about crime (theft of services, violence, etc) on board buses: What are your solutions?

County employees enjoy robust health benefits. Budget’s tight & people mad: What would you recommend the county’s approach be to cutting labor costs?

Those and many more are available for your praise or condemnation. And hey, if you think everyone who’s asked a question so far is a fucking idiot and your questions are so much better, you’ve still got four and a half hours to ask your own damn question. So head on over and check it out now!

  1. get..

    the money..

    off the bus..

speaking of the metro, and the most vulnerable, forget the fare cheaters, they’re mostly poor, let ’em ride free (it’s currently a few percent of the 23% covered by farebox, and therefore less than 1% of the total cost) and get the buses MOVING… you could get so much more efficiency, and therefore ridership if you didn’t have every jerk and his brother fumbling for the money (sometimes purposely, sometimes just out of ignorance or laziness).
