UPDATE: The receptionist is off duty. So send Gregoire a direct email: Just CLICK HERE AND HIT SEND.
Federal agents are raiding sick people and their caretakers right now because Washington law doesn’t extend protection to dispensaries. The bill on Gov Chris Gregoire’s desk would do that.
Call and ask her to sign the bill to license medical-marijuana dispensaries and protect sick patients from arrest. Tell her not to veto any portion of the bill. She should support the legislature that passed this bill, the 84 percent of Washington voters that support medical marijuana laws, and the sick and dying people who need marijuana to ease their suffering. Gregoire’s claims that state employees are at risk have been debunked by some of the best lawyers and a leading law scholar in the state of Washington.
Call her now: (360) 902-4111. Thank you.

I love Hugh Spitzer as much as the next girl (and probably more), but it might be a bit of a stretch to declare him the leading law scholar in the state. There are plenty of others who could stake a good claim to that title.
I’d suggest also tweeting at her (@GovGregoire) just to make sure you hit all angles.
Get this up on Facebook too.
i called her office. they were rude. who the fuck pays the taxes in this state??? gregoire, you suck!
Hi, could you please hold a minute? Thank you. I will add your call to the others.
@5 That’s the same response I got. Mayhaps they are a bit overwhelmed?
It’s time to start the revolt.
@4 Seconded. Same nasty person who answered last time I called, at least this time she tried to get into it saying “WELL WE AREN’T EXEMPTED FROM FEDERAL LAW”, I made the argument RE: Federalism allowing states to craft laws EXEMPTING people from federal laws. Idiots.
just called, automated voice, no voice mail
I’m so glad that your getting in touch with your legislatures because when the People Talk, Washington State Government is there to listen…and then turn around like psychopaths and smash you on the back of the neck.
cf. The Tunnel
cf. The Sports Stadiums
cf…well just about everything in the history of this state…
yeah this broad is not getting my vote next time
We need t-shirts that say “No Seattle Votes For You, Governator!”
This could help the legalization or decriminalization efforts, could it not?
@12 I’d wear one.
@13 In the short term, no with a but. In the long term, yes with an if.
I think someone has kidnapped the real Gregoire and replaced her with a Republican. There’s no other explanation. The transformation came over a period of like 24 hours; one day it’s “I hate these budget cuts” and a day later it’s “we’re reinventing the state.” She’s really a Blethen pretending to be Gregoire.
An erratic relationship these tunnel fans have with their Governor.
Great fun watching them lay in their own beds.
I just returned from the NORML conference in Denver. While there I engaged Dan Hartman, Director of the Colorado State Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division – which now employs over 45 government workers – in an interesting discussion, regarding Colorado’s Cannabis Commerce Laws.
I asked him if the Governor of Colorado had ever pleaded to US attorneys for direction in their state legislation.
His answer – “No. We don’t ask those questions. It is the job requirement of the Federal Attorneys to respond the way they did to Gregoire. They don’t have a choice.”
I then asked him if, as a State employee, he felt his job was threatened by breaking Federal Law. His response nailed it – “I would expect my Attorney General to do his job and defend the laws of this state.”
His answer makes me wonder if perhaps you have no faith in the ability of our state Attorney General to do his job?!
I think the reality of Colorado’s new and viable model of legal medical marijuana should suffice the most staunch naysayers who think that Washington workers would actually be at risk with SB5073.
