That might come in handy for treating severe cases of PTSD.
sign me the fuck up! let’s GO motherfuckers, let’s get them teabaggin’ bitches in here too!
Hmmm… this strikes me as a Very Bad Idea.
Bad memories exist for a good reason. Maybe if someone is suffering from severly debilitating PTSD, like @1 suggests, then ok, remove it, but otherwise it would probably cause more harm than good.
FINALLY.
I would like to forget 1980-1985, thx
There goes my ice pick stock.
Four or five martinis do it for me.
I hope Golob comments on this, because while this seems awesome, pretty much every science article with an amazing headline turns out to be ridiculously overreaching. I finally learned my lesson with Popular Science after the 13 trillionth “Scientist Cures Cancer?” cover article.
I have no memory of the late-’60s. Do you suppose it could bring those back?
@7: Beat me to it.
@8: Forget Golob, why isn’t Charles writing this post?
Can we use it to dose up the next Tea Party Convention? Would be interesting to see how their political leanings change once they stop being afraid of quite literally everything under the sun.
Radiolab discussed this in their episode 4 of season 3, entitled “Memory and Forgetting.” You can check it out at http://www.radiolab.org/2007/jun/07/
They have the full episode, or you can scroll down to “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Rat” if you only want that segment.
@13 Thanks!
I need this done. Extensively.
