One of the biggest anxiety-inducing events on any election day is the time spent waiting for the results to be released. More often than not, people go to bed that night still not knowing who won. In an effort to expedite the release of election results, state Rep. Scott White (D-46) has proposed a bill that would allow the tabulation of absentee ballots to begin at 8 a.m. the Monday immediately before a primary or general election. This will ensure a significantly larger pool of results is posted early on.

  1. It’s pretty stupid to reply all on an email like this, but it’s MORE stupid that their PR person didnt BCC everyone so that this wasnt possible.

  4. I think part of the problem might be the chance of interim results being leaked before the due date, #3.

    I don’t care if they start counting ballots before the due date, I just want them to count ALL of the ballots before they release any results. The state should stop feeding the media’s obsession with the unreliable day-to-day numbers.
