that may look messed up, but i wish i had learned how to do that with my last cat. at the ripe old age of six, three of her canines rotted right out of her mouth. doc had to pull em.

Try giving a pill to a cat. Now that’s an olympic sport.
A few times I tried to put it in food and all except for one time the cat managed to eat all of the food except the pill. Then I tried to crush and mix it in but the cat just took one smell and walked away.

Agreed @4. My 15-year-old cat has lost more teeth than she has left. I started trying to brush her teeth when she was a kitten, then stupidly fell out of practice because it was such a hassle. Now I’m paying the price – literally – both in expensive wet food and in vet bills for cleaning and extractions. My next kitty will learn to accept the tooth brush.
I thought those were chopsticks and you were feeding your cat sushi. But that’s just me.

Scruff you cat, while also supporting the weight of its body. Open the cat’s mouth and put in the pill. Blow strongly in your cat’s face. The natural reaction is your cat will swallow.

Your cat will scarf them with the pill inside. My little girl needs a pill twice a day (she’s an old lady) and she reminds ME when it;s time.

After spending several hundred dollars having nine of my older cat’s teeth pulled, I now brush all three cats’ teeth. It may seem weird to the ailurophobic, but their breath no longer reeks of ass.
