Here’s something I found rolling around the back of the bus (and then threw away). It’s a souped up soda thingy packaged to look like a tank of nitrous oxide. The gas can power cars or be inhaled to get high.

Not to be prudish or anything—I like laughing gas in the dentist’s chair as much as the next guy and want to feel like a human race car—but how fucking desperate for a buzz do you have to be to drink this crap? Legalize pot already.

  1. I’m going to come out with one that has TEN GRAMS of caffeine in it. You Will Rocket Into Space! (and then die). And 5% gasoline (which is what they all taste like).

  2. As far as I can tell, the laws governing which recreational chemicals are legal mostly shakes out like this:
If there is more money to be made from selling the legal version (say charging three dollars for caffeinated sugar-water, or selling the patented prescription wonder-drug Marinol™) then it’s legal. If there is money to be made in keeping it illegal (say anything you can grow in your yard) it’s a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance. The big obvious exception is alcohol, which is why the second time around they re-branded Prohibition as the War On Drugs™ and made sure that organized crime could continue to fund its operations through sales indefinitely without any pesky public outcry or common sense getting in the way.

  3. @2:

As a reference, NoDoz pills have 200mg of caffiene.

You would have to take 50 NoDoz to get the same amount of caffiene as one bottle of NoS.

Take into account all the other shit in that bottle. Its frightening.

  4. Dominic, surely you realize that the kind of high you get from lots of caffeine and sugar is entirely different from smoking weed. You can’t really expect us to believe that people who drink these energy drinks are trying to find a replacement for sweet, sweet bud which has cruelly been denied them by The Law. A lot of the people who drink this kind of carbonated ass do it for the effects of caffeine, particularly the increased alertness.

  5. In fact, I would go so far as to say nearly all people who drink ‘energy drinks’ do it to hopefully feel like they have more energy.

  6. @8: The 10mg figure was for #2’s genius plan to destroy the world.

The front label states 343 mg of caffiene per 22 Oz bottle. A little more reasonable.

@writer: I don’t think kids these days even realize that the car NOS is laughing gas NO2. The drug is so hard to come by(for cheap) and control dosage that it is not very well known.
