The primaries are almost upon us. Ballots will be arriving in the coming days. It’s time for every citizen to fulfill their civic duty and become thoroughly informed on the issues and intimately acquainted with Joe Fitzgibbon. Here are two events tonight that will help you do just that.

Wednesday:

You saw his picture on Slog and you’ve heard tell tale of his beauty. Now you have a chance to see the handsome and legendary Joe Fitzgibbon in person. He’ll be hosting this month’s Burien meeting of Drinking Liberally. (Mick Kelly’s Irish Pub, 435 SW 152nd Street, 7 pm)

The 8th district congressional race is one of the most closely watched in the nation. Tim Dillon, a Republican challenger to Republican Dave Reichert, will be hosting his own town hall at the Aegis Retirement Facilities. True he’s raised less than $5,000 as of the 26th (compare to Democratic Challenger Suzane DelBene’s $1.6 million) but no Democrat has ever won the accursed 8th, and it may be that the only candidate with a chance of unseating a Republican in this district is another Republican.
