Less black cats, less bad luck? That’s racist!
Goldy’s sanctimonious crap makes even good causes seem like a drag.
It should work the other way around. Possession of an unspayed cat or dog should be punishable by a fine of $1,000.
Look at the cute kittens!! Let’s put them in charge of the country. Awwww…they’re so cute!!!
@2 is right. If Lindy West had written this same piece, it would have been funny and lighthearted but with Goldy it comes off as smug and lame.
while spay and neuter is acceptable control for pets, and there is definately a reason to do it, you also need to understand the consequences.
many pets will have a change is personality, some good some bad, some pets will become more docile while others more aggressive.
the other problem is bone loss, as your beloved pet gets older they will suffer from bone problems. in people we subsidize this, but your pet is not and has to suffer through it as well as the hormonal changes their bodies endure..
So spay/neuter while understanding what is happening to that beloved pet.
