Last month, the well-loved Greenwood eatery/drinkery Gainsbourg suffered a fire that necessitated closing for a while.
But tonight that while ends as Gainsbourg reopens, “with a limited menu,” as co-owner Hannah Levin tells me. Congratulations and hurrah.

David Schmader regrets misspelling the name of the Restaurant “Gainsbourg” three times in one post.
Every time I see their ad in the paper- the ad with the picture of the rakish figure silhouetted under a gaslamp, and a young woman in the foreground, coquettishly turning back to look, I want to know what their story is.
Spelling fixed!
That was totally tongue in cheek and all in fun, having just come off reading the “we regret the error” section, by the way. Psyched to have Gainsbourg back up and running!
They were closed? I wondered why I wasn’t feeling ignored by waitstaff lately.
Gainsbourg also built a back bar, which was more of the culprit in keeping it closed during the Christmas holidays. Oh well, at least I had some great brew and grub at Naked City and Bastille, respectively.
Cool. We tried to take out-of-towners there last week only to see a lonely fellow inside beavering away at a board on sawhorses at 8 PM.
Fnarf! That sounds naughty!
@8, no, really, he was using a circular saw.
Greenwood Holiday Pub Crawl back on. Excellent.
