Our economic woes are good news for people in the burger business and Jesus business.

Good for McDolnalds, While I’d not personally eat there it is good to see them doing well.
As to religion being on the upswing. Yep, people look to faith when times get tough. Once life starts getting easier again, attendance in churches will go on the down slope.
Mmmm, Jesus burgers…
It’s that what Obama said happens when times get rough? Guns, faith, and something or other.
Comfort food should still do well during hard times. I am almost surprised that the Starbucks by me (145th & 15th (as well as two other drive through coffee places within a block and a half) are still doing big business.
I also occasionally eat at a pub and it’s still doing good business,
Campbell’s Soup stock is doing well, I suspect who ever owns Kraft Foods is doing well too.
The reason McDonalds and other fast food places are doing well is value meals (which is why both KFC and Starbucks says they are going to introduce them too. What a Starbucks value meal is, I can’t imagine.
The my ChristBurger franchise is ready to take off!
What a great idea to allow underfunding of public education over these last decades. A more easily frightened, easily led electorate is catnip to Republicans aiming for a comeback. A little populism, a little nationalism, and there ya go.
If this is such a huge recession, why does the person who takes my order at Micky D’s still not speak any English? I’ll worry when I start seeing the Fine Arts majors slinging the patties.

2012 is closer than you think.
Oh, come on. This article about the church attendance upswing is from two months ago. Posting it again just makes it seem like there is this overwhelming momentum towards churchiness that might have plateaued at this point.

The Fine Arts majors are busy drawing unemployment and bitching on SLOG that it isn’t enough.
Burger King of Kings
Holy Cow!
And there was a bunch of these same stories about Church attendance going up after the Sept 11th attacks and they all proved false in the end.
But if it’s true these same Churchs are in for trouble. New members cost more than they put in the offering plate and hard times means less giving from the established members.
Did you ever notice just how creepy all those church zombies look?
@7 FTW.
@7 I’ll worry when I see the Fine Arts majors working as hard for the money as recent immigrants do.
Fries is where it’s at.
Potatoes are cheap and grown in America.
Pancakes, bacon, fries, hamburgers, Costco.
All will do well.
Except the overpriced crap they try to sell you as burgers that cost $8 around here.
@16 or Fine Arts majors contributing to the common good as recent immigrants do.
