I defy the internet to come up with something more sensational today than this:
The upshot: It happened in Colorado, it’s the first diagnosed person-to-person transmission in the US in almost a century, health officials traced it to a pit bull and some fleas, the four people infected survived, the dog did not, and there’s no reason to be alarmed. Plague is now treatable with antibiotics.
But still. What a headline.
