The latest film from François Ozon (Swimming Pool, 8 Women, Under the Sand) meanders along following a testy junkie as she finds out she is pregnant and goes to live in the countryside, where she is later joined by her dead boyfriend’s gay brother. Ozon still has the ability to be shocking (See the Sea‘s punch has stuck with me for over 10 years) and this movie draws out some emotional weirdness. Also: French hotties.
Hideaway plays again Sat May 29 at 1:45 pm at the Egyptian.
Ozon is so great.
really good, though this still doesn’t do justice to either of the leads.
