On Tuesday, September 20 at 1:05 a.m., a man picked up a homeless prostitute in his silver compact car at 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street, according to a Seattle police report. Upon entering the car, she allegedly agreed to give the man a blowjob in exchange for $20. But once they had driven a few blocks east and the woman allegedly received the money, “she decided she didn’t want to give the suspect a blowjob, so she started to get out of the car,” the report continues.
“The suspect stopped her from leaving the car and pulled out a pocket knife with a 3″ or 4″ blade,” according to her statement taken by SPD Officer Cockbain. The woman “stated that when he pulled the knife at her, she grabbed the knife with her right hand to prevent the suspect from stabbing her. When she grabbed the blade, the web of her right hand sustained a deep 1″ laceration.” After getting cut, she fled the scene and encountered an acquaintance who called 911 “against [her] wishes.” Medics took her to Harborview Medical Center.
The report provides no more details (like if she returned the money to the assailant), and opining on a case like this is dicey. But it seems unfortunate that this woman, homeless and obviously poor, was reluctant to call the police after she’d been assaulted, quite probably because she was afraid of being charged with prostitution.

@13, I’d just let her have the $20 without attempting to cut her up. While it’s scamming, $20 isn’t worth injuring another person over. Hell, $200 isn’t worth it either. Johns routinely get ripped off for way more money, but most (the rational ones) just blow it off as the risk of being a john.
