I don’t get why you need both of these guys around. One or the other of them could produce just as much irritation as the overlapping annoyance they make. What you really need is somebody who can aggravate people in a different way than what they do.
Not that I understand the profit in bothering people without enlightening them. Ad impressions I guess.
What is the deal with Tao Lin, all I ever hear about him is hipster hate or “He’s a genius!”
@2, read a couple of pages and you’ll see. He’s a “personality”, only he doesn’t have a personality. That’s his schtick. He’s sort of like a Khardashian in that regard, only he writes “books” which are mostly about how boring it is to write books about being bored by writing books. It’s not entirely clear whether this is meant to be funny, ironic, or a commentary on the boredom of society, or something seewper-meta like a commentary on the boredom of making commentaries on commentaries of the boredom of society.
A twat, in other words. Will in Seattle would love him.
You put Tao Lin on the cover just to annoy me, didn’t you?
you and your stupid hipster cred.
I didn’t even finish the block quote. The novel is dead.
@3 you know very little about me.
You think you know me, but you don’t.
I agree with @1 and @3. Irritation is why I skip anything written (a generous term) by the intern. Irritation is why I stopped reading Lin’s writing after the first paragraph.
Laziness, as cited by Eric Grandy quoting the intern, has nothing to do with it. I would have to be some inside-joke-loving, too-cool-for-school-feeling, meta-analyzing masochist to bother reading anything further by these two.
@6 “…This IS the REAL LIFE of Will-in-Seattle” ?
Anyone care to explain the point of the Tau Lin article? Based on the minute I spent skimming it, it seemed like a really long and unfunny inside joke.
@9, to me the point of the article was to justify a blog post featuring a photo of Julien using both hands to hold close something longer than it is wide.
@1, you’re hired!
@6, attagirl, Will! You put on your wrap and hold your head up high because those BITCHES never really LOVED you! They never loved YOU!
@10: LOL! No wonder this straight boy didn’t get it.
