The Stranger is hiring!

We’re looking for a System Admin/Help Desk person to fix our computers and computer-related stuff, on an ongoing basis. We need someone who knows Mac OS X so well it’s kind of annoying. Hardware, software, all of it. We don’t care if you know anything about Windows. (Okay, maybe you should know a little. Like what’s that key with the picture of a little flag on it do? A mystery.)

This is a serious, full-time job, supporting dozens of employees in a deadline-driven environment in 2 locations (Seattle and Portland), and remotely whenever they stray from home (*cough* Savage *cough*). We have laptops, desktops, servers, switches, telephones, routers, hubs, keyboards (!!), printers (big ones!) and more than a few toggle switches. You’ll have to know what each of them does and how to fix ’em. (Pro Tip: usually toggling them the other way isn’t enough.)

You should not only know what these things stand for, but you should know how they work: AFP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, SMTP, HTTP.

Full non-jokey details and info on how to apply can be found here.

Pass it on.
