It’s not too late to have a fantastic weekend—a Chromeo concert, a women’s rage salon with dance auteur Pat Graney, and two fish-related festivals are just some of the free things you can do this weekend. For even more events, check out our Things To Do calendar.

FRIDAY
Seattle City of Literature Celebration
Writer Ryan Boudinot assembled an anthology by Seattle writers about Seattle’s literary richness called Seattle City of Literature: Reflections from a Community of Writers. Reading tonight will be Jim Lynch, Brian McCuigan, our own Charles Mudede, and the wonderful Elissa Washuta.

Everett Sausage Fest
We’re talking about actual sausages here, of course. Plus beer gardens and carnival rides!

Ron Weinstein’s Jazz Trio
Grab some food at Brass Tracks and listen to some free jazz, about which Charles Mudede says: “When Weinstein plays, he really goes for the soul, goes to the bottom of things, but not in a rootsy or earthy way. This is music for the type of souls who are sad when walking down a busy city street but soon bored when hiking in the woods.”

SATURDAY
Jonathan Raban
As part of the Frye’s free Genius / 21 Century / Seattle exhibit, British travel writer Jonathan Raban will read from his works. As Charles Mudede says, “Do not miss this rare opportunity to hear the best writer in the city, and one of the best writers in the world.”

Chromeo
Canadian electro-funk duo Chromeo perform a free set as part of something called “Microsoft Tailgaming,” a free party leading up to the Seahawks vs. Lions game, that will feature the latest Xbox games.

Pat Graney: Afternoon Women’s Rage Salon
“‘Choreographer’ doesn’t feel substantive enough to describe what Pat Graney does. She’s a dance auteur who creates affecting and sometimes humorous spectacles,” Brendan Kiley says. Inspired by her current Girl Gods performance, she’ll lead a series of writing exercises to help members of the community engage with their female rage.

Evening Bell and Leeni from Prom Queen
Evening Bell and the Prom Queen’s Leeni Ramadan perform a free, all-ages show in the midst of Macefield‘s otherwise 21+ programming.

Fisherman’s Fall Festival
Activities at this free festival celebrating the fishermen of Seattle include canal tours of the Port of Seattle, oyster slurp and lutefisk eating contests, survival suit races, and performances by The Reptile Man, taiko drummers, and the Shifty Sailors.

Salmon Days Festival
An annual festival celebrating the return of the salmon. Festivities include a “Grande Parade,” a carnival, live entertainment across five stages, food, and a Run with the Fishes 5k on Sunday. It should be, as their hashtag proclaims, #SoFlippinFun. (Through Sunday)

SUNDAY
CroatiaFest
Croatia finally gets its moment in the sun at CroatiaFest, which celebrates the music, food, and culture of the coastal nation at the Armory in Seattle Center.

Breaks and Brunch
Classic funk, soul, R&B, and oldies are promised, spun on real records, duh.
