Paul reported earlier on the Boy Scouts’ weird bullshit compromise on gay rights. In smaller gay news… Yesterday, I mentioned that Pocatello, Idaho, has been considering a controversial LGBT nondiscrimination ordinance and that the city council was voting on it last night. This morning, the news:

Mayor Brian Blad cast the deciding vote Thursday night to defeat a proposed new ordinance designed to protect the LGBT community from discrimination when it comes to housing, employment or public accommodations.

The Idaho State Journal quotes the mayor as saying, “Either way I’m going to be loved or hated by half this crowd,” and a “lone man in the back of the room” as shouting “How does it feel to be a one-term mayor?“
