Washington Families Standing Together could use a little link love…

Have you considered listing the “Vote Approve” organization for R-71 as a “Friend of Slog”? The group’s name is a bit obscure (“Washington Families Standing Together“), and their website—approvereferendum71.org—isn’t getting much love from Google. If you search for “R-71” or “R-71 Washington,” you’ll have to page past lots of other web sites before you find their listing. (The “no” organization is at the top of Google!) Surely they’re more of a “friend” than the “Man babies” link. Just a thought. Thanks.

  1. It’s a good idea for anyone that supports the cause to link to this site, with some helpful text inside the like like “ref 71”, “washington state referendum 71”, or “zomg teh gayz” from their various blogs, twitters, and band pages.

  2. #2 Google doesn’t really use meta data anymore, at least not for ranking. It probably has more to do with how the relevant text is placed on the website.

  3. We need a poll to choose a better name for them.

You can officially call yourselves WAFT and we can call you something else, so long as the end result is the same.

And they should accept PayPal. And have links to preorder t-shirts and cookies and cupcakes and fair-trade chocolates (hint hint to Theo’s in my precinct this means YOU).

  4. besides the stranger staff (which take perverse joy in adding or removing “friends” and “enemies”), nobody gives a flying fuck at a rolling donut about it.

way to effect a change in the world, editor@thestranger.com. keep up the shoddy and laughable work, yo.
