  1. The one thing this blog is lacking is an artist’s statement/written description of what they perceive a “hipster” as being. This blog isn’t providing any service I can’t already get from Vice Magazine.

  2. Sub-Do’s and Don’ts. Making fun of people is all well and good, but you have to be funnier than them. If you’re not, you’re just a bitter prick.

  3. “If I didn’t already know I was listening to Animal Collective on these headphones, I would bet myself $100 that I was listening to Animal Collective on these headphones.”

    Pure gold.

    (Disclaimer: I like Animal Collective.)

  4. I was recently in Williamsburg for the first time in about five years. Holy hell the hipsters have been busy. And whitey is starting to slip back in to Bushwick. Cats and dogs living together, man.

  5. kinda funny, but it seems just a couple of degrees from the “get a haircut, hippie!” sentiment. in other words, older people putting down younger people for looking “dumb”. thanks, pops. i’ll get off your lawn now.

  6. This is excellent shit, I wish they would rip the piss out of the tedious dullard tryhards on Capitol Hill. Whom I suspect are all provincial assholes from Montana and Idaho pretending to be otherwise.

Hipsters are the most vacuous, soulless, bland twats in America and should be gassed.

  7. When are these turds going to realize that those skinny toothpick-chickenleg jeans look HORRIBLE on ANYONE, especially on males?

  8. Hmmm…nobody ever thinks of themselves as a hipster. Also, hipsters bag on other people for being hipsters. I wouldn’t be surprised if the person writing this blog is the biggest hipster douchebag of them all. He/she certainly knows all the cultural references.

  9. I’m definitely not a hipster because I would never wear those unflattering skinny jeans.

  10. I have a feeling that this would only offend you if you are a “hipster” and dress that way. By that logic, I would guess that @9 and 10 are hipsters, and possible wearing skinny jeans at this very moment.

  11. Wow, these people look just like all the laughably pathetic, horribly ugly losers you see all over Capitol Hill. They’re all the same no matter where they are!

  12. Capitol Hill has nothing on New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

You fools have some tremendous issues to address, so get off your ass and seek help.

  13. @19: ha! you flatter me – my 40-year old ass would never fit. and really, i’m not offended by the site – just bored. clever is generally more interesting than snarky.

  14. a blog dedicated to hate for hate’s sake, looks like something that would be very popular in seattle. I love the broad judgments based soley on apperance. hating hipsters is such a new and fresh idea too!

  15. Waaaaah all this hipster hate is making me cry. I will have to go to Hot Topic and buy a few extra-skinny pairs of black jeans to get over it. Maybe I will stretch my earlobes out some more later too if the jeans don’t make me feel better. You all are so mean! How can you be so insensitive? THIS IS SEATTLE FOR FUCK’S SAKE!

  16. I agree with the sentiment @25, but one nice thing about hipsters is their uniform and their exclusivity. They identify each other easily, only hang out with each other, and, most important of all, only fuck each other.

  17. I’m actually the biggest fucking hipster of all, and I never look anything like anyone in those pictures. And I never go to any of those places.

Of course, it could be hipster is just the word people use for whatever they don’t like at the moment.

Also, how come there’s nothing but complaints about fashion choices? Where are the pictures of hipsters beating up old ladies or whatever horrible things people who dress like that supposedly do? I mean, I assume they must be really bad people from what gets said about them.

  18. ohhh man, finally.
I’ve been on a long hiatus, and like a pupae, or a new haircut, waiting to emerge; now will stretch my wings and leather wristbands towards the light, and in defiance of the condemnation. because yes I’m hipster, but only barely, just enough so that I can feel better about judging others in my quest for the hipster manna, and some cheap sex.

  19. @ 33:
    “beating up old ladies”

pfft, thats just the tip of the iceberg, we also listen to and promote music for it’s irony, that is until it becomes mainstream then we mock, mock, mock, ironically, of course.

gotta keep it real, ummm yo.

oh, yeah, we luv commas, too.

  20. I meant “Its’ irony”, just to be clear.

ehhhh fek, gonna go back into my cocoon and sulk now.

    peace out.
(peace out is on the upswing, icydk)

  21. “No, no, you promote music that’s meta. Irony is so two years ago.”

see what happens when you go away… I didn’t get that memo. “Flag my hipster card”, and by saying that, boo-yah, I got me some cred points.

…..and crapper, I just lost ’em by saying “boo-yah”

  22. @ 39,

Testify brutha (or sistah). Skinny jeans are a vast improvement over “diaper full o’shit” saggers. Seriously, if you could but wander through gang-banger wannabe land (i.e. Phoenix) you would see the superiority of the skinny jean. You would never complain about them again and hug any male wearing them for not exposing his sad, tatty boxers to the breezes.

Viva La Hipster! They’re not white suburbanites trying to be “ghetto” or “keep it real”.

  23. No, saggers are way better than skinny jeans becasue then the oppressed urban black youfs have a really hard time running away from the crimes they commit because their pants are falling down.

  24. True. Saggy pants are the 20th century’s most brilliant fashion assist to the police. I hope rappers start sporting real steel hobbles next.

  25. Hey everybody, how many real hipsters does it take to send all of the fake hipsters on Capitol Hill back to Oregon, Idaho, and the East Coast? Let’s find out!
