Having heard reports of a door forced open at a house on South Creston Street, Seattle police officers responded last Tuesday to find the basement door “broken in,” a police report says.
“When we shined our flashlights into the house to see if there were any suspects there, we viewed over a dozen marijuana plants, several grow lamps, along with an elaborate system of filters and air conditioning units,” the report says. The cops also “found a three foot tall marijuana plant outside the residence.”
While searching for suspects, according to SPD records, police discovered that the resident had posted an authorization for medical-marijuana, which is legal to grow in Washington with a doctor’s permission, so they secured the broken door. The officers noted that police had arrested a suspect earlier in the day for possessing 16 immature marijuana plants just west of of the residence, in pots matching those from the scene of the burglary. The police report also notes that there was “a trail of marijuana leaves leading [down the block].”
Wow, that’s so civilized. I wonder if the cops gave the guy back the stolen plants.
No, Root, I’m sure they didn’t. They’re evidence. They wouldn’t give back anything else that was stolen prior to trial either.
