Talking to strangers
It’s too intimating

a bus full of wet hobos
smells like wet hobos

  1. Wow. #3 is ridiculous.

The vitriol dashed out to those evil souls who actually drive their car in Seattle in bizzare.

Why the hostility? Do you really think you’re making a difference in the world climate by getting on your little bus? Do you know the Chinese put 24,000 new cars on the road a DAY? And add a coal plant a week?

Rude awakening: you ain’t making a bit o’ difference.
Actually, riding the bus is arguably worse because the emissions standards are much, much lower on buses, even when you divide by the average # of passengers, and load spread over time.

Full disclosure: I ride the bus 5 times a week.

    Get over yourself.

  2. @4: oh, come on. If you really ride the bus 5 times a week, you know that the people who only ride when it snows make the bus that’s already crowded because it’s not showing up extremely packed, and they don’t know how to ride properly. Get over your superiority complex and stop projecting.

  3. Um, I ride the bus when it snows because biking in the snow is dangerous (and a little foolish). I’m a little disappointed to find out that this makes me an asshole.

  4. Only in Seattle could we have mass transit snobs! Are you really gloating about riding THE BUS? And since when was there a “proper” way to ride the bus?! Were they nude or something? Whenever I am forced to ride the bus, the only thing that goes through my mind is “This sucks. This sucks. This sucks . . . “

  5. @8, 9

Oh, yeah. Public transportation is so only there for full-time riders. Occasional riders — as in, those who ride on the occasion of snowfall — are second-class riders who don’t have as much RIGHT to RIDE.

Uh huh. And what philosophy, aside from putting your own personal comfort above all other considerations, gave rise to that little theory?
