An interrogative poem:

So, what makes Twilight so awesome?

Should I pick it up?

Why would anyone steal parking pay stations?

What do you think the criminals are going to do with them?

Should we keep the King County Fair?

Don’t know the difference?

Happy Seahawks fans?

Where will these tech-savvy leaders direct their newfound energy?

Want a house in Oregon?

How can we help Seattle get things done?

What will the Chief Technology Officer do?

How’s this for an ode to the neighborhood?

What makes your neighborhood sing?

Does anyone know what this is about?

Is it rejected debris or spontaneous public art?

The message?

Should civil rights be up for popular vote?

Can a consensus of some kind be reached on this issue?

What can we all agree on?

  1. Do you hate Monica Guzman because she’s like the youngest, least powerful journalist in Seattle? They wouldn’t even let her in the Guild, right? And she’s female.

Is that why? Or what? Why do you hate her?

  2. Well, I detect a hint of contempt. And disdain. And smug superiority. Perhaps nobody but me sees it.

That, plus this is not the first, nor the second, nor the third time that ECB has soared high above everything blogged and printed in this town and then swooped down to eviscerate one of Guzman’s blog posts found three clicks in from the front page of the PI’s web site. Erica’s usual complaint seems to stem from her critical evaluation of Monica’s intelligence, and gravitas.

  3. o.k., point taken w/r/t the quality of the bjc found poems.

I’ll also join in the chorus of those saying that Monica is an incredibly nice person who takes her job seriously and is sincerely interested in engaging readers even if it means asking a lot of questions in her posts.

  4. I don’t get it, is this because each link takes you to some hypothetical question posed by Guzman? Isn’t, like, every Mudede post ever some trite and insular hypothetical question?

  5. @ levide: that was hilarious.

I’m not going into this ECB versus MG crap, but I do have to say that the Big Blog now has a “Today in PR” segment.

It’s like Monica doesn’t even try anymore.

  6. The King County Fair should stay open but expect smaller crowds. Just because there are no farms on Capital Hill or Fremont doesn’t mean there aren’t farms in King County and Kids in the 4H and FFA. Seattle has Bumbershoot. Let South King County and the Eastside farmers have the fair.

  7. Monica is a nice person, apparently Erica can’t relate. Why so much anger towards a fellow female journalist trying to eek out a living?
